Greece is an EU and Schengen country. Canadian Refugee Travel Document holders require a Schengen visa for tourism. The Greek Consulate in Vancouver requested the applicant’s RTD, nationality, Canadian immigration documents, itinerary, purpose of travel and previous Schengen visas as part of the visa application review.

The Canadian Refugee Travel Document is recognized as a travel document in the EU PRADO system. The visa requirement applies to Canadian Refugee Travel Document holders and does not change based on the holder’s nationality.

Canadian Refugee Travel Document holders should contact the Greek Consulate before making travel arrangements or requesting an appointment. The Consulate will ask for information about the purpose of the trip, itinerary, travel document and Canadian immigration status, and will review the documents before advising whether the applicant can proceed with a visa appointment.
