The Consulate General of Malaysia in Vancouver confirmed that Canadian Refugee Travel Document holders can travel to Malaysia with a valid RTD and Canadian PR Card, but a visa is required. The application must be submitted in person at the Consulate.

A Notice of Decision is not accepted in place of the Canadian PR Card. The visa issued is a single-entry visa for a maximum stay of 30 days.

Applicants must email the required documents to the Consulate for initial review and wait for instructions before submitting the application in person. The RTD must be valid for more than 6 months before departure from Malaysia, and the application should be submitted at least 3 weeks before departure. Required documents include the valid PR Card, three months of bank statements, employment letter, confirmed return flights, and hotel booking or applicable invitation documents.
