Canadian Refugee Travel Document (RTD) holders who are Canadian permanent residents with a valid PR Card can travel to Mexico without a Mexican visa for eligible short visits, subject to Mexico’s entry requirements.

RTD holders who do not have Canadian permanent residence are required to obtain a Mexican visa before travelling. A Notice of Decision or Canadian work permit does not provide the same visa exemption as Canadian permanent residence.

If you have Canadian permanent residence, carry your valid Canadian PR Card and Refugee Travel Document when travelling to Mexico.

If you do not have Canadian permanent residence, you should apply for a Mexican visa before travelling and confirm the current requirements with the Mexican authorities or the Mexican consulate responsible for your place of residence.
